Secaucus got some odd publicity over the weekend when it became the location of an alleged fight involving one of the members of the MTV show Jersey Shore Family Vacation.
In the latest episode of the show that aired on July 11, cast member Ronnie Ortiz-Magro misses the court hearing of fellow cast member Mike Sorrentino. When he finally appears, he claims that he was at a diner in Secaucus when he got into a confrontation with two fans who jumped him in the parking lot.
Ortiz-Magro’s cast mates are skeptical of his claim, as they should be. After all, he claims the altercation took place after he refused a drink from the fans. But the only diner in Secaucus is Legends Diner, and it doesn’t serve alcohol.
It’s possible Ortiz-Magro was using the term “diner” loosely, but it’s doubtful. It appears the bruises and scratches he displayed may have stemmed from a fight with his girlfriend.
This a valuable lesson for anyone to learn: never use Secaucus as an alibi.
