The Secaucus crackdown on massage parlors continued with the arrest of a 52-year-old worker at Blue Spa on 3 East, leading to a shutdown of the facility.
The town’s inspection office then closed the facility after code violations were found involving two other staffers at Blue Spa.
Mayor Mike Gonnelli said he is “hopeful” the prosecutor’s office will continue such investigations with local police.
The massage parlor will remain closed until the Secaucus Board of Health conducts a hearing on the charges.
Secaucus targeted similar facilities, including Blue Spa, with an ordinance this month limiting massage parlors from operating within 1,000 feet of a school or church. It has also temporary shut down the facilities, including Oriental Health Spa and Life Health Spa, on health code and other violations.
