Secaucus resident Christopher R. Bascianelli was charged with first degree bank robbery after allegedly robbing a PNC Bank in Piscataway last Friday.
According to Piscataway Police, the 41-year-old Bascianelli entered the bank – which is located inside a Stop and Shop supermarket – around 12:30 pm and presented a note to the teller than claimed he had a weapon.
Bascianelli got away with an undisclosed amount of money but was labeled a suspect after surveillance video photos were released. He was eventually fingered by a Somerset County Sheriff’s Officer, who recognized the man in the photo from a recent stint in county jail.
Bascianelli is being held in Somerset County Jail with bail set at $250,000.
