The Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader has a nice profile of Giants third-string QB Andre Woodson, a former Univ. of Kentucky phenom who’s rebuilding his career in East Rutherford.
Woodson rented an apartment in Seacucus during the past season and had a few kind words for his part-time home.
“It’s nice,” Woodson said of his New Jersey abode. “My apartment was sort of off by itself. I like to keep it quiet.”
We’ve got a few other players around town that some of you may have run in to. One of the rookie hazing stunts on the team is have an unfortunate first-year player fetch breakfast for the team on Saturdays and a few delis in Secaucus are often called on to produce scores of egg sandwiches during the season.
A perceived flaw in Woodson’s throwing motion hurt his status in the 2008 draft, so he’s been working as a practice squad quarterback with Giants staff and QB Eli Manning to change his mechanics.
He’s still with the G-men and says he might be sticking around for a bit. Good luck, Andre. See you around town.
