We just read about Secaucus resident John Pein and have to admit that the guy is (a lot) tougher than we are.
Plunging into the ocean in February is about the last winter activity under consideration by your warm-blooded editor. I recall complaining to my wife on a recent morning that the steering wheel of the car was too cold to manipulate.
But hats off to John for taking that plunge next weekend in Seaside Heights and doing it for a good cause.
John’s team, the Sea Monkeys, has already raised more than $1,100 for the Special Olympics of New Jersey, according to the Polar Bear Plunge website.
You can donate to the team or John and any of the 10 individuals on it by clicking here.
And if you’re feeling particularly brave, sign up and take the plunge with him. Online registration closes 2/24 and there’s a minimum donation of $100 to “plunge.”
We’d be out there with you next weekend but … well … you know, we have a website to run.
