The Secaucus High School boys cross country team won the B Division of the NYC Cross Country Carnival on Sunday.
The Patriots scored 38 points to finished just ahead of Dalton School (40) and 3rd place Archbishop Stepinac (49) at the meet, which was held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
Mohammed Alobaidi finished in first place at 14:07.5 and fellow junior Daniel Chinchilla was second at 14:14.0. Junior Sebastian Flood was fifth (14:58.9), sophomore Nicholas Munoz was 13th (15:43.9), sophomore Vishwa Naik was 22nd (16:22.7) and junior Dylan Mercado was 33rd (17:21.7).
“Just a great day for our boys program,” Secaucus coach Coach Stan Fryczynski said. “We have been running well these last few weeks and the team is truly starting to gel at the right time. They have been very coach-able and I couldn’t ask for harder workers.”
