The Secaucus High School football team snapped a four-game losing streak with a dominant 39-13 win against Lodi on Friday.
It was a thoroughly dominant performance by the Patriots (3-6), who had managed just 33 points during the skid. Kosei Hayashida was the star of the game with a 57-yard touchdown reception, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
After a scoreless first quarter, Secaucus began the rout with a two-yard touchdown run by quarterback Julian Rocco midway through the second. The Patriots quickly forced a turnover and never looked back after Rocco connected with Hayashida on the long score.
Derek Fernandez ran the ball 17 times for 130 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns and Rocco added another touchdown pass late in the third quarter.
