Secaucus Patch confirmed on Wednesday that a dog park and parking lot will be the final result of construction that has been ongoing at the end of Farm Road.
Multiple residents have emailed eSecaucus in the past year asking what will happen to the empty lot at the end of Farm Road bnext to the Acorn Park playground. The town told Secaucus Patch that a dog park, parking lot and community garden will be built following an environmental evaluation as the ground may be contaminated by a tanning business that used to operate on the property.
According to Secaucus Patch:
The town of Secaucus purchased the land from the tanning company for about $100,000 a few years ago and was given a $300,000 grant from Hudson County to convert it to a park. At their most recent Council meeting, held last Tuesday, the town Council decided to hire Ellas Environmental Services to do an environmental investigation and possible remediation, if needed, at the site.
