As reported in The Jersey Journal on Friday, the cause for last week’s suspension of Secaucus High School’s Principal and Assistant Principal Suspension were discovered.
It was announced last week that Principal Dr. Robert Berckes and Assistant Principal Jeffrey Case were suspended with pay but details were scarce. The Journal later revealed that Berckes and Case failed follow proper protocol when a student was found with drugs and a knife.
Instead of reporting the student to authorities as required, Berckes and Case discarded the evidence and disciplined the student themselves.
Despite inquiries from The Journal, Superintendent Jennifer Montesano, Berckes and Case did not comment.
