The formation of Secaucus High School and Middle School students on National Walkout Day was featured on the front page of the Star Ledger on Thursday.
The students joined millions across the country on Wednesday by walking out of class to protest gun violence one month after 17 people were killed in a shooting Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The Secaucus students assembled on the high school football field to spell out the word “HOPE”.
The aerial photograph taken at the event made the front page of The Star Ledger, which has a daily circulation of more than 100,000.
The photograph is being sent to Parkland, according to Secaucus Superintendent Jennifer Montesano, and Secaucus Middle School Principal Robert Valente posted a video of the assembly on his YouTube page.
