Amanda Ulrich scored 52 points combined in back-to-back games to help the Secaucus High School girls’ basketball win the NJIC Championship and advance to the Hudson County Tournament final.
On Wednesday, Ulrich dropped 29 points in a 61-49 victory over Hudson Catholic as the Patriots advanced to their second straight Hudson County Tournament final. They won their second title in three seasons with a victory over Marist in the 2017 final.
The following night, the junior star had 23 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists in a 76-55 win over Midland Park in the NJIC Championship finals. Senior Lindsey Mack led Secaucus with 31 points on 13-of-17 shooting against Midland Park and sophomore Damaris Rodriguez had 17 points, eight rebounds, nine assists and four steals.
Ulrich, who was recently named the Hudson Reporter Athlete of the Week, is averaging 21.8 points, 9.0 rebounds and 5.0 asssits in her last five games.
Secaucus (24-1) will face top seed Lincoln (18-2) of Jersey City in the Hudson County Tournament final on Saturday at 5:00 pm.
