Secaucus Police Blotter for the Week Ending February 4, 2018

As provided by the Secaucus Police Department:

On January 28th at10:28pm Secaucus Police responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident on Route 3 East. A 45yo male, Peter Samulka of Carlstadt was arrested for DUI. Mr. Samulka was issued 2 MV summonses (DUI, Reckless Driving), and left in the care of hospital staff.

On January 29th at 3:21 am Secaucus Police were dispatched to Linden PD to take custody of a 24yo male Julio Cruz of Jersey City. Mr. Cruz had 3 outstanding warrants in the amount of $1585.00 from Secaucus, Newark and Jersey City. Mr. Cruz was transported to Hudson County Jail.

On January 29th at 9:46 am during a Motor Vehicle stop, a 53yo male, Ronal Peguero of Newark was arrested for 3 outstanding warrants in the amount of $400.00 from Newark and Lyndhurst. Mr. Peguero posted bail was issued 2 MV summonses (Tinted Windows, Suspended License) and released.

On January 29th at 4:45 pm a 17yo Juvenile male from Manalapan was arrested. As reported prior, several calls on January 24th of Burglary and Theft on Born and Maple Streets, led to a 2nd arrest. The male juvenile was arrested for the following: seven counts Burglary [2C:18-2A(1)], six counts Theft [2C:20-3A], 2 counts of Criminal Attempt [2C:5-1C], Conspiracy [2C:5-2], Possession of Burglary Tools [2C:5-5A], Receiving Stolen Property [2C:20-7A] and an outstanding warrant from Monmouth County. The juvenile was processed. Custody turned over to the Union County Juvenile Detention Center.

On January 30th at 12:12 am Secaucus Police were dispatched to Warren Township to take custody of a 30yomale, Jesse Elsouly of Jersey City for two outstanding warrants in the amount of $1000.00 from Secaucus. Mr. Elsouly was unable to post bail and transported to Hudson County Jail.

On January 30th at 9:25 pm Secaucus Police were advised of 2 individuals arguing outside Police Headquarters. A 21yo male, Antero Cabezas-Vela of Passaic was arrested for DUI. Mr. Cabezas-Vela was issued 2 MV summonses (DUI, Reckless Driving) and released to a responsible adult.

On January 31st, at 12:30 am while on patrol, Secaucus Police witnessed a suspicious vehicle parked away from curb, idling and the person appeared to be sleeping. While investigating, a 28yo male, Felix Colarte of North Bergen was arrested for Possession of Marijuana [2C:35-10A(4)]. Mr. Colarte was transported to Hudson County Jail.

On January 31st at 2:20 pm Secaucus Police responded to Home Depot on a call of Shoplifting. A 45yo male, Steven Scotti of Bogota was arrested for Shoplifting [2C:20-11b] and 2 outstanding warrants in the amount of 2,000.00 from Lodi and Bogota. Mr. Scotti was transported to Hudson County Jail.

On February 2nd at 2:00 pm Secaucus Police responded to BP Gas Station on a call of a theft of a cell phone. Parties had left, but through investigation it was found a 37yo male, Matthew Gale of Westwood was arrested for Theft of Mislaid Property [2C:20-6], and a 33yo male, Didier Alvarez of North Bergen was arrested for a no bail warrant from H.C. Sheriff’s Dept. and 2 warrants in the amount of $491.00 from West New York. Both males were transported to Hudson County Jail.

On February 3rd at 11:27pm N.J. State Police transported a 36yo male, Carlo Ramirez of Queens, NY for an outstanding warrant from Secaucus. Mr. Ramirez was arrested for 3 outstanding warrants totaling $1350.00 from Secaucus, Union and Pennsville. Bail was posted and Mr. Ramirez was released.

On February 4th at 2:22am Secaucus Police responded to a call of a Motor Vehicle accident on Hartz Way. A 28yo male, Kyle Schlemm of Secaucus was arrested for DUI and 2 counts of Assault by Auto [2C:12-1C(2)]. Mr. Schlemm was issued summonses Reckless Driving and Carless Driving and released to a responsible adult.
