Hurricane Harvey slammed into southeastern part of Texas in the final week of August, dropping more than 50 inches of rain and causing $150 to $200 billion worth of damage. More than 70 people were killed, 185,000 homes were damaged and 9,000 destroyed, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Tens of thousands of people have been displaced and will be forced to reside in shelters as the region recovers.
