A new statue honoring police offers was erected outside Secaucus Town Hall on Wednesday.
The statue features a Secaucus Police Officer holding the hand of a young girl wearing a backpack. On the officer’s other side, a young boy wearing a baseball mitt holds a baseball in his outstretched hand.
The statue stands on a platform with three lights for evening illumination. An official ceremony date for the statue has yet to be announced.

The statue is reportedly being dedicated to Secaucus Police Officer George Rennie, who was killed in a motorcycle accident while on duty at the age of 24 on October 5, 1970.
The town is currently attempting to find surviving family members to attend the ceremony. Rennie was single with no children when he died and his parents have since passed away.
If anyone has any contact or information regarding Rennie’s surviving family members, please email email@example.com and we will pass it along to Secaucus officials.
