New Jersey’s sixth marijuana dispensary will open later this year on Meadowlands Parkway.
Harmony Foundation will open its 10,000-square-foot greenhouse and retail space at 600 Meadowlands Parkway after receiving a permit to begin growing cannabis after a lengthy approval process.
It has been six years since the New Jersey government allowed six nonprofit companies to provide cannabis for its medical marijuana program. The Harmony Foundation facility was under construction for two years as the company went through a series of issues with investors that delayed state and local approvals.
The facility’s first crop with need to be grown and tested for safety before it can start dispensing to patients.
New Jersey currently has more than 13,000 registered patients and five dispensaries, which are located in Montclair, Woodbridge, Cranberry, Bellmawr and Egg Harbor.
