Secaucus police arrested a Sussex County man last week after for robbing one home and attempting to rob another.
Joseph Murray of Newton tried to break into a home on Pandolfi Avenue around 10:30 am but ran off when the homeowner called police. Murphy was tracked down by the police and captured after a chase on foot.
The 39-year-old Murphy was carrying burglar’s tools, heroin and hypodermic needles, according to police.
Later in the day, a homeowner on Third Street called the police to report a robbery at his home. Police charged Murphy with that burglary as well after gathering evidence from the crime scene.
Murphy, who violated terms of his probation, is charged with a slew of crimes, including burglary, drug possession, and resisting arrest, among others.
