The President of the Secaucus Booster Club has been charged with stealing $25,000 worth of funds, according to a press release issued by the Secaucus Police Department.
Elena Ratti was arrested last Wednesday and charged with third degree Theft of Moveable Property as the result of a lengthy investigation by the Secaucus Police Department. The 38-year-old Ratti was the sole controller of the Booster Club’s bank account.
Ratti allegedly stole the funds between July 0f 2015 and August of 2016 in order pay personal debts.The Secaucus Board of Education recognized suspicious activity in the account around this time and notified the police.
eSecaucus became aware of the missing funds late last summer but was asked not to disclose the information to avoid publicizing the investigation.
