Dustin Formisano, who setup a web page last September to raise money for medical treatments, passed away over the weekend from the illness he had been battling for more than a year.
Formisano passed away on Saturday, September 10 at just 24 years old. He is survived by his parents, Dawn Malley and Gary and Carol Formisano, Sr. and siblings Gary Jr., Casey, Christian, Dylan and Samantha.
A wake will be held at Mack Memorial Home in Secaucus on Wednesday from 8:00-10:00 am with a funeral Mass immediately afterward at Immaculate Conception Church.
In September of 2015, we published a post on Forminsano’s YouCaring page, on which he asked for donations to pay for medical treatments. He had been diagnosed with “stage IV Metastatic Melanoma; an aggressive form of cancer that can be terminal, especially in the later stages.”
Formisano eventually raised $5,130 of his $6,000 goal. Reading his original YouCaring page, you get an idea of the grace and courage with which he faced the challenges which ultimately claimed his life.
