After more than three years, local theme park Field Station: Dinosaurs will close at the end of the 2015 season.
The park, which is located in Laurel Hill Park at the end of County Avenue, will reopen on May 23 and close for good after Labor Day weekend. The land will be used as the new location for High Tech High School, which is moving from North Bergen.
Field Station: Dinosaurs featured more than two dozen life-sized dinosaurs, including the largest animatronic dinosaur ever made. Guides would lead visitors through “twenty acres of wild, unpredictable woods, mysterious pathways, and mountain trails”, according the website.
The park catered to school groups during the offseason. The park does not have another location lined up and may not find one without proper funding.
