D’Agostino Eying Secaucus

Senior executives of the New York-based supermarket chain D’Agostino met with Secaucus officials today to discuss the company’s potential plans to build a store in the Transit Village condominium development in Secaucus.
A Secaucus location would be the chain’s first store outside of New York, where it has 18 locations — 15 in Manhattan and three in Westchester County.
“They’ve been looking at the site for quite some time,” said town administrator David Drumeler, who added that he and Mayor Mike Gonnelli received the president and chief operating officer of D’Agostino on the one-and-a-half-hour visit today to highlight the benefits of locating a store in Secaucus.
“We were there to talk up Secaucus and discuss things we could do to bring them here,” said Drumeler.
Friday’s pow-wow was the second site visit by D’Agostino officials.
It’s unclear whether a Secaucus supermarket would include features like online ordering and grocery delivery offered by other D’Agostino locations.
Officials have said a Secaucus D’Agostino store would be modeled after the company’s Chappaqua, N.Y., supermarket, which offers both services.
The Transit Village development, which is marketed as Xchange at Secaucus Junction, is located off County Road in the south end of town.

Great market…not too big BUT has everything at great prices

Nope.
How about a Fairway or an Aldi?
Too expensive, not a good idea..
This chain is way too expensive for the typcal Secaucus resident. And the location still is not convenient for the majority of people in the town.
