Impreveduto Resigns to Retire
Mar 5th, 2010 | By Greg Hazley | Category: On tapUpdated 3/5: Patrick Impreveduto, principal of Secaucus Middle School and a veteran educator in town who has been absent since September, resigned on March 3.
“”The board of education has accepted Mr. Impreveduto’s letter of resignation for the purpose of retirement,” the district said in a statement.
Rob Daniello, director of humanities, has been serving as acting principal of the school.
The Hudson Reporter first reported on Impreveduto’s extended absence and exit, noting he had initially been out on sick leave after injuring his back in an accident at school last fall.
The Reporter said the principal regularly attended council meetings in Holmdel, where he’s deputy mayor, through his continued absence in Secaucus.
Secaucus Superintendent Cynthia Randina and the board of ed shuffled three school principals, including Impreveduto, after the 2008-09 school year.
Impreveduto was moved from the high school to the middle school under after that shuffle.

This whole situation is an enigma! I think Patrick Impreveduto had legitimate reasons to be upset at the board administration, but he also could have deal with it better. He had better options after 35 years served as a Teacher and Principal to leave or retire.
He is RETIRING!
was there an emergency Board of Ed meeting in the last two days to accept this resignation? Who made this statement on behalf of the district? I think a little fact-checking might be required here
I don’t think it matters anymore. Both sides seemed to come to an agreement to settle. Patrick Impreveduto now gets his retirement and payout and the district could now move on.
I just hope his replacement gets a lot less money. All these upcoming retirements should help reduce salaries but only if the board hires people at the much lower entry level salaries for each specific job title. Gonnelli did it with O’Conner let’s hope the board has such foresight. My guess is Randina will demand a very large salary for Impreveduto replacement and the board of ed will follow along like love sick puppies. What do first year middle school principals make in other very small districts. I’m sure It’s south of 100k. We soon shall see if Board Members are here to save us money or spend foolishly.
I will definately miss Mr Impreveduto so so much. His time at Secaucus improved so many things & I for one as a parent feel he always did the right thing. All I hear i talk about him resigning or out sick, lets not forget how many kids he truly affected & the parents who he talked whenever it was needed. Ive been raised here & have so much respect for what he has done & I am sad he is gone. The acting principle I dont know well but I can say he doesn’t return phone calls, & this has happened more than once, if anyone were to contact Mr Impreveduto he always called back & helped you with whatever you may have needed. Lets face it they see our kids everyday & when a crisis arises with your child you want the respect of a phone call back. He ran that school for many years & we should all thank him for that not bash him for what have been rumors for a long time now. I will miss him & unfortunately our kids will be the ones who suffer, ask the kids they liked him & do miss him..I wish you the best, Mr Impreveduto & please know as a parent I thank you & I will always be grateful for all you have done for our kids & the respect you have always given.
