Oct 20th, 2009 | By Greg Hazley | Category: On tap, Police, Secaucus, police blotterThree young area women were arrested in the early morning hours of Oct. 18 following a fight outside of the Feelgood Lounge and Restaurant in the Plaza, police said.

I thought Dawn McAdam fixed all the problems at the feelgood cafe a few weeks back. What is a 19 year old doing at the Feelgood at 2:59 AM?
Hurry Cane is right! Mayor Mike will personally stand outside Feelgood at 3 am every Saturday night.
Just be glad this didn’t happen at Mike’s North End firehouse, or the police would never have written it up.
That’s an excellent idea BillO!!!
I’m sure Mike has the support of enough residents who will stand beside him on Saturday nights and do what the owner has refused to do and what the Secaucus police obviously can’t do and control Feelgood.
In turn we can reduce the size of the police force or cut hours. Which in turn will reduce the tax liabilites to residents.
Excellent idea. Run the Town like a private business. Perform your job duties or risk losing your job. It’s called accountability! Exactly like a corporation. Cost cuts and efficiency will save tax payers thousands and start to pay off the debts and mistakes of the previous administration.
Heck BillO– If you were running for office you would get my vote.
The Secaucus Police have to report something. The real crimes are always covered up.That is so The Secaucus Municipal Criminals can say what a safe town we have and were # 19 best place to live. # 19 and I cant even go food shopping in town and if the town thinks wal-mart is the answer just go there anyday and look at the lines.I’ll still go to Lynhurst,Thank You.Back to the Feelgood Secaucus Police are suppose to be there outside for the safty of the people that are in our town. Not doing paperwork in there car in the Industral parking lots.WE PAY FOR THE POLICE, DO YOUR JOB.
The main problem with Feelbad’s is its location. It needs to be in the industrial locations of Secaucus, like where AJ’s is, or in a commercial spot away from residences like in Harmon Meadow by the theater, etc. In Feelbad’s spot should be a nice quiet family-type restaurant like Linda Thai Kitchen, currently on County Avenue (a good place I highly recommend if no one’s been there).
This place is obviously a recurring and growing problem in town. Just because not all of us may live next to Feelbad’s, it does give ALL of us a bad name with the problems that go on there. Something needs to eventually be done. The question is – Independent… Democrat… will any of our elected officials ever take on the problem?
Good post Dave.
The sad part is that Feelgood actually sells very good food and would be an asset as just an eating establishment. Possibly a BYOB type place.
The problem is it just does’nt seem to work as a Bar/Nightclub especially in its current location as you pointed out.
At this point in time the owner appears to be challenging the town to do something and obviously he is winning the battle. I guess he likes the publicity his business is getting. Like many problems in town it’s actually an ‘easy fix”. We just need to see someone step up to the plate and take on Feelgood and whoever their “true” backers are.
Why dont we just allow them to fail? If they are operating within the law then let them operate, if they are not then fine them and do not allow them to buy their way out of it. Please a police officer on the corner at 2 AM and pull people over that operate vehicles drunk, arrest people who pee in alleys!!! Problems solves itself. If they are not allowed to operate as a disco then make sure they are not, if they serve underage people then the ABC should get invovled. If they do not know how to ID people then pay the cops to do it, I’m sure they would love the overtime. The problem is they can’t survive on good food alone so they need to operate as a nightclub maybe they just made a few bad business decisions and sunk too much money into a restaurant.
You’re steps above are exactly what should be taking place Hurry Cane. It’s a pretty “simple fix” as far as law enforcement goes.
Are these steps being taken? If so why are’nt they working? Are Half-Assed attempts at these steps being made? Is the owner of Feelgood above the law? Does he have political “friends” who act as though they are above the law? Are they?
I’m really getting tired of seeing articles and police blotter reports about this establishment. What do residents need to do to be heard in this town?
If problems persist, I agree that an officer should be placed outside the place. If problems continue, the owner should be fined for the amount that it costs to have that extra officer placed there.
What did this place used to be called? I haven’t been in town for several years.
I think it was an Elks Lodge type of thing.
try hiring more cops. the 3 that work a saturday night are busy keeping the towns people safe. do you really want them watching the Union City trash that stumbles out of the FEEL ME UP CAFE?
