Secaucus High wrestler Bobby Roesing made a strong showing at the state championships over the weekend in Atlantic City, finishing at No. 7 overall for the 160-pound class.
Roesing won his first-round match in the N.J. State Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament on Friday night with an 11-5 decision.
He was pinned in his first match on Saturday by Mike Dessino of Middlesex in 1:55, but picked up a win in his second match against Elmwood Park’s Eric Torres with a 14-3 decision.
After he was pinned by Brian Broderick of Southern Regional in his third match in 2:59 on Saturday, Roesing advanced to the Sunday match for seventh or eighth pace in the weigh class.
