The girls edged N.A. in Secaucus, 60-53, while the undefeated boys went on the road to take a 70-60 victory. Both Patriots teams earned a Bergen County Scholastic League conference victory.
For the girls, Andrea Innis chalked up 19 points (three steals, six assists), while Shannon Waters contributed 17 points (a par of steals and 11 rebounds) and Amanda Stenten had 12 points. Stenten also logged five steals, six assists and four rebounds in an impressive effort.
The Secaucus girls are 17-5 overall and 14-2 in the conference. They lost to North Arlington earlier in the season.
The boys, now 12-0, took advantage of a struggling North Arlington team, which fell to 2-14. Secaucus was led by Joey Impreveduto, who logged 21 points and 10 rebounds, and Zac Schlemm, who put up 20 on the scoreboard, along with five steals and 10 rebounds.
The boys varsity team is ranked #1 in the BCSL National Conference, according to the closely watched Massey Ratings. The girls are ranked third in the conference.
Both teams face St. Mary’s on Friday — the boys at home, girls away.
Ten teams are in the NBCSL National conference.
